An endangered species

Televangelists are a queer lot. I've been reading about things they have said. It first glance some of the quotations are quite hilarious. One individual, for example, preaches that homosexuals should be made to wear different clothing from everybody else. This comment is surprising, and completely contradicts his previous preachings about 'gay' people being too obvious in society.
A second glance at this reveals something much more disturbing. The similarity of the idea to the stars that Jews were forced to wear during the Third Reich is extremely sinister and worrying.
What is of great concern is that in the world, there are people who are ignorant enough and gullible enough to believe this sort of rubbish. What concerns me even more is that this person has earned quite a fortune from his rantings. What a hypocrite.
The good news is that the individual's country is becoming increasingly secular, with church attendances down on a decade ago. (One hopes that this isn't because people watch such idiots on the telly). I'm looking on the bright side. People are starting to finally starting to see through religion's poisonous legacy of superstition. It cheers me up to think that such evil views are dying out with the people who are stupid enough to believe in them.
Here endeth the first lesson. We will now sing hymn No27 Oh lord our help in ages past.
