The rest of today

I've got bored with the computer again so I'll go home shortly. I'll have a simple bangers 'n' mash dinner, but not too much of it, and pudden for afters, and then watch the remaining four episodes of The Great War. It's a fascinating series, and in my view one of the best the BBC ever made. It's marvellous to hear all the first-hand accounts by people in their sixties and seventies who were actually there. What I enjoy too is hearing some real regional English, and spoken in a way that it no longer is. This series is such an important record. I'm glad that someone had the foresight to make it.
