Yesterday evening

I was looking forward to my dinner yesterday, but it didn't live up to expectations. When I think about it my appetite wasn't brilliant, so it may have been I rather than the food which didn't live up to expectations. After dinner I watched Captain Boycott, starring Alastair Sim, Stewart Granger and Cecil Parker. Afterwards I started watching a film production of Bernard Shaw's Caesar and Cleopatra, starring Vivien Leigh. That was awful in the extreme, so I switched it off at nine and went to bed.
