As expected

I've just been to see my doctor about the support which should be available now that I've been diagnosed as autistic. The diagnosis was given last September, and the report was sent to my doctor during December. Today the doctor was unable to access his online documents because of a computer fault. He offered me nothing, and asked me to see him again 'after some time'. My doctors' surgery is a very good one, but I'm finding it most frustrating when I have a doctor who doesn't understand what autism is. In fact he once told me that it isn't important. Well I suppose in some ways it isn't, but probably not in the way he meant. As it goes, I'm currently receiving no support of any description. I've written to my social worker to see if she can help.
