I went home as planned and felt puckish, so I decided to make some lunch for a change. I'd completely forgotten how enjoyable and satisfying a plate of beans on toast can be. Beans on toast are another English culinary triumph.
Carpets did play a part in my early afternoon. I gave the hall and passage their first going-over. Very tiring. I got back to the library pouring with sweat. The weather will help the carpets to dry nice and quickly though.
