ASD again
Counselling went really well. I've never had that before and feel that it's working, in that things are starting to move round in how I think and feel. It's not confrontational like psychotherapy. Confrontation is both unhelpful and destructive for autistic people. Psychotherapists make a career out of twisting round whatever you say, in order to fit their pre-conceived ideas and theories. In the past the treatment was always combined with antidepressants. I always felt worse during and after treatment than I had in the first place. It felt like 'take the tablets, take the therapy and go away'.
