Pulling myself together

Since I wrote I've had a nap for a couple of hours. I can think of three factors in my tiredness; the recent fit, the lack of antidepressants, and lots of time looking at a computer screen. I feel better now than I did. When I've had another fag or two I will drag myself through the bath, and make a very simple dinner.
I'm looking forward to the old-time singalong later, and to the lovely people who will be there.
The above picture is from 'Punch' in 1854, and shows a tavern in Covent Garden, London. Some taverns, like the one above, had a room put aside for use as a music hall. There were even cheaper ones, known as 'penny gaffs', that were notorious for both the entertainment they provided, and for the behaviour of their customers. I love the costumes in the picture. The men's clothing fits very badly. The women look like they should be on casters. I can imagine them gliding elegantly along the lobby.
