I went to the pub a bit earlier than normal and started playing through some classical pieces. People started asking me to play particular pieces, most of which I could oblige with. Then we had a rousing singalong. The response was very warm. In the meanwhile my brother reported for duty, and during the course of the evening various of my friends turned up. The icing on the cake was when one of my musical friends turned up out of the blue. He's one of our 'Cornwall Holiday' group. The pub was full of friends. When the person whose name I will not mention came in, he was completely outnumbered by people who couldn't pretend to be interested in what he was saying, so he didn't stay very long.
I got chatting to a couple that I've recently become friends with. Believe it or not he also has Autistic Spectrum issues. It's wonderful that people feel comfortable enough with me to be so forthcoming. I joked with my brother that there seems to be an epidemic of autism in the pub.
Some friends brought some people all the way from Uxbridge for a kneesup, and a very good one it was too. People kindly bought me one pint after another, so I'm afraid I did have rather a lot. I'm not complaining though. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a lovely night with friends.
