The beauty at the top is Isobel II of Spain (1830-1904). The lovely at the bottom is none other than our home-grown talent Queen Victoria (1819-1901). Both were born to older fathers and youngish mothers. Whereas Isobel might look quite at home on a Christmas tree, with her beautiful crown, the other one wouldn't look out of place on a compost heap, what with her scruffy old bonnet. What dainty little arms they both have, and those puddeny little fingers. Note too the voluminous amounts of material needed to make frocks large enough to cover their vast wearers. They both have such prominent chins and intelligent expressions. Ain't they got pretty waists too? Until she came out of mothballs, Queen Victoria very nearly found herself getting booted out. She wasn't as smart as Isobel, who made a proper job of it when she was deposed in 1868. So much for that then.
