Yesterday was a bit peculiar, so I had more scrumpy than usual when I went to the boozer. I was in an advanced state of inebriation when I found your lovely message in the early hours of this morning. I am just pulling myself together with coffee and fags, and feel like writing things that I couldn't possibly utter.
I have always admired your thoughtfulness and consideration. I know you like a laugh and a joke (and so do I, when I finally 'get' the jokes), but underneath that veneer there is a serious and sensitive person.
I admire what you have achieved by your own hard work, and the successful career you have made. I admire the way that you can put into practice the things you think. I admire your natural modesty. I admire the way you've always stood by me, and I know there have been times when that can't have been easy. I love the happy atmosphere at your house. I admire your musical skills, and your ability to appreciate all different sorts of styles and genres. I admire your generosity as a person. You are so good-hearted.
I wish I had these qualities. So, the next time you apologise for being yourself, I'm going to come round and sort you out. x
