It's a really beautiful, warm day today, so I've included a naughty seaside picture by Thomas Rowlandson. We've had a clear blue sky for much of the day, in fact much nicer than in the picture.
We had our 'odd bunch' dinner last night, and very enjoyable it was too. Two of us came back to the pub afterwards, and had a very convivial time amongst friends. My spectrum friends came by as well. Lovely. A German tourist had been enjoying the cider there, and we got talking. He spoke almost perfect English, but I wanted to try and speak some German for the first time in forty years. I managed perfectly adequately for about twenty minutes. I spoke at the proper pitch and rhythm and without hesitation, and had a really interesting chat about what it's like to be a teacher in Germany.
I woke up on time this morning, but with quite a hangover. I went to school and did the necessary. I stopped off at the pub on the way back to do some piano practice, to see my brother, and to natter to the German tourist who had come back.
I think I'll have an early dinner today, so that I can go out and enjoy the last of the sunshine.
