A picture of last night's sunset

Yesterday was wonderful, and even more so given the glorious weather we were enjoying. I caught the train some fifteen miles, to meet my friend from uni in the cathedral city where he now resides. We started off with a cup of very good coffee in the French cafe, followed by a walk around some beautiful gardens in a secluded spot right in the city centre. What could be nicer?
We popped back to his place before going to the shops, and then went to collect his children from school in the village where they used to live. Of course it was crowded with the bustle of parents and children, so I stood aside and watched some greenfinches.
Having met the children, we all drove to a local nature reserve for a walk and a lovely picnic. I washed my food down with a very good perry. Lovely. I saw a marsh harrier. I was pleased as I enjoy seeing birds of prey. After that we went back to his house and I made a very studenty chilli con carne for we adults and my friend's partner. Then I enjoyed a particularly delicious bottle of Rioja and we chilled out. What a lovely day. My friend is so thoughtful, and I ate so many of the things I really enjoy but don't often have nowadays.
Thanks mate for a special day.
