The horrible rain and murkiness lasted until teatime and then began to clear. The evening culminated in a beautiful pink sunset. When I got to the pub it was mild enough to sit outside, so my friends and I congregated there and enjoyed the sea. The pub laid on a buffet supper for one friend, whose birthday had been on Friday. The landlord and landlady are such thoughtful people. The whole evening was full of chatting and laughter.
