After leaving the doctors I went straight to the chemists to pick up my tablets. I dreaded what was to follow, for I had to go to the post office and the supermarket. Gulp.
When I got to the post office, three cashiers were serving and there was no queue. More fool me for believing I would be out of there in a moment. The poor cashiers were filling out endless forms and answering millions of questions as a queue formed behind me reaching back as far as the front door. About ten minutes or so later one of the morons left and it was my turn. I bought my ten pounds' worth of electricity, and the whole transaction took less than a minute.
Then I got to the supermarket. It was filled with a motley collection of the old, the infirm, the not too clever etc. I needed eyes in the back of my head, because the wankers on tractors were out in force. Thankfully there were no near misses this time. The whole experience made me feel thoroughly miserable.
When I got home I took my antidepressant, so I feel much less wobbly now. I ran out of them on Sunday, so I must be more careful that it doesn't happen again.
