What a family
After watching the film about Oscar Wilde the other night, I decided to read up further on the subject. It is known that the Douglas family (Marquis of Queensbury et al.) were generally quite barmy. What appalled me was how Bosie (Lord Alfred Douglas) treated Wilde later in life. Bosie blamed him for everything, and is quoted as saying that Wilde was at the centre of a circle of such evil as had not been seen in Europe for 350 years. Where he got his dates from, or upon which data he based his statement, are not known. Oh well, people are people whichever era they live in. They never change.
