Feeling cold

I've just read the story of a disabled American teenager who was lured out of his home by a girl, on the pretext of going for a date. He was taken elsewhere and subjected to a prolonged beating and psychological torture by another youth. One of the group filmed the incident, and I've seen the attack on facebook. WHY? What is the matter with people? What did the attackers get out of it? It is beyond me.
