What has happened to the German language? Apparently Eszett (known as double ess) is now practically obsolete. Even more shocking is the demise of the genitive case, which has been superseded by the dative. I do find this all quite sad. I'm doing my bit for Germany by continuing to use both Eszett and the genitive.
