Priorities

Today it has been reported that another ancient monument of world significance has been destroyed by religious fanatics in the Middle East. This story is so very sad, and is an indictment of the mindless people who carried out the deed. However the national news doesn't carry a single report on the four men who were chucked off the tops of tall buildings at the weekend. I found out about it on social media. Come on BBC, don't you have a duty to report something as significant and terrible as this? Is social media really the place one needs to look to find out what is happening in the world? Don't people matter?
