Last night

When I got home I watched Alive and kicking (1959). a delightful comedy starring Kathleen Harrison, Sybil Thorndike and Stanley Holloway. Afterwards I started watching The Teckford Mystery (1954) starring Margaret Leighton, Roland Culver and Raymond Huntley. It was even more tedious than I had remembered, so I switched it off after about ten minutes. Instead I started watching a documentary series on dvd, from the time when the BBC made good documentaries, namely The Great War (1964), narrated by Michael Redgrave and others, and with music by Wilfred Josephs. I'm going to watch the remaining twenty-four episodes over the next few weeks.
