Last night

I had the leftovers of Thursday's pasta for dinner, and it tasted better than previously. I started off with episodes 11 and 12 of The Great War, which left me feeling a bit shaken. I changed my tack and watched Major Barbara (1941), the film version of Bernard Shaw's play of 1905. I'd forgotten how good it was, and the cast was first rate: Wendy Hiller, Sybil Thorndike, Robert Newton, Robert Morley, Rex Harrison etc. I finished the session with episodes 13-17 of The Great War.
