More about Aspergers
I know that I am much affected by sound. I'll try to tell you what it's like. I can hear lots of sounds coming from different directions. I can hear the traffic outside, the photocopier downstairs, and scanning guns. I can hear multiple conversations but can't make out anything that's being said. Two people gabbing away in a peculiarly ugly language are making me feel angry. I have to be very careful not to react. Loud noises, such as a door slamming behind me, make my arms tingle and my pulse race. The feelings I am experiencing now are reasonably manageable. It is infinitely more difficult if I am in the middle of a hubbub. The physical sensation is much more intense and I need to escape.
