Now

First the noisy community arrive. Then the earplugs go in. This seems to have become a new daily ritual for me. I wish I coped better with noise.

Boring

It seems even darker than earlier, and the rain shows no sign of letting up. I really don't like this weather. Rather it's the horrible, dull light that upsets me. I can't concentrate. I wouldn't mind a return to the cold and bright days we had recently.

Animal rights

Yesterday there were reports of a car crash caused by a wild boar. Today we learn that one of the Princess Royal's pigs has been killed by a boar. I hope that this is not the beginning of a campaign against Wild Boar. They are beautiful animals.

Outrageous

Apparently two walkers have been found safe in the Scottish Highlands. Appalling weather had been forecast for yesterday, so what were these two individuals doing there in the first place? I hope they will be compelled to pay for their rescue.

Sleep

Horrible again. I'm tired and aching again. I woke up laughing at one point but the thoughts suddenly became negative, and this kept me awake for quite a while. I lay there listening to the rain and the wind, wishing it would be morning.

Food

I cooked spaghetti with meatballs last night. It came out perfectly fine but I didn't enjoy it, and only ate part of what I'd dished up. I ate a large quantity of grapes instead.

Last night

I watched a film from a boxed set of Diana Dors dvds called A Boy a Girl and a Bike (1949). I hadn't watched it before and thoroughly enjoyed it. Afterwards I watched part three of the Attenborough series on plants. I wanted to watch episode four, but found a big crack in the dvd and it wouldn't play. I finished off with Laurel and Hardy in Their First Mistake (1932) which is surreal and very funny.
